Painter’s Palette

I must admit that I don’t think this set has seen ink much at all.  I am still trying to get20170408_091149_resizedblog (2) through all my stamps before the new Catalogue comes out which means over the next couple of weeks, I will be showcasing some of my less stamped sets.  Today’s card is just that!

I’m also happy to say that I’ve used the matching “Playful Palette” Washi Tape.  Now all I need to do is create a card using the matching “Playful Palette” DSP Stack & I will be happy.  This suite uses some of the 2016-2018 In Colours of Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach & Sweet Sugarplum.

20170408_091200_resizedblogTo create my card, I added strips of the Washi Tape across the top of Very Vanilla CS before layering onto a piece of Basic Black CS & then to the Base Card of Peekaboo Peach.

I stamped the easel onto a scrap of Very Vanilla CS with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, the stamped the “spat” Image into the centre with Emerald Envy, Sweet Sugarplum & Peekaboo Peach Inks before die cutting with the Layering Squares Framelits.  The top of the easel was fussy cut while the legs were stamped direct onto the card.  I stamped the sentiment direct over the stamped images in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

The “square” was adhere to the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, as was the top of the easel.  To finish the card I added 3 x Basic Black Candy Dots (retired).

For the inside, 2 x strips of Washi Tape was adhered down the left hand side of Very Vanilla CS before being layered inside the Card.

I know it is a very simple & easy card but one that showcases this lovely set & the Washi Tape.

I would love to know what you think of it.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Vicky

Perfect Mix…

… for Stampin’ Girls Gone Wild“.  This is a challenge FB Page run by the very talented 20170226_082450_resizedblogConnie Stewart.  I’ve been a member of this page for some time but have never managed to play along with any of her challenges.  As part of our challenge this week or weekend is to create a project for an online challenge.  You can see my 1st challenge card from yesterday  here.

I’ve been waiting to find the “perfect” opportunity to ink up the lovely little stamp set “Perfect Mix” from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.  This is perfect for anyone who loves baking – boys & girls, male or female.

I wasn’t too sure where I was heading with this card but after playing around with a few options, I decided I liked this one the best, it sort of come together better than the other bits I was playing with.

If you get the time, why not head on over to “Stampin’ Girls Gone Wild” FB Page, hit the join button & play along.  Lots of lovely inspiration!

Happy Birthday – FMS 276

It is not often that I post on a Saturday as I usually have the day off from crafting but I’ve20170225_073820_resizedblog issued a challenge over on our FB Page that this weekend, we had to find a challenge, create a project & post it somewhere including our Page.

I’ve had my head going around the past couple of days thinking of a way to create a card using the challenge over at FMS.  Once I sort of set my mind to what I wanted to do, I was surprised at how easy my card came together.   As I hadn’t created a male card in some time, I also challenged myself to creating one for the males & think I have succeeded.  Although I will admit that I wanted to emboss the background but completely forgot about that part until after I put it together.  Oh, well!

Thank you once again to the team over at FMS for a great challenge – loved the layout!

Washi Wednesday

G’day Stampers,

My card today is one I cased from Naomi but changed it out to suit what I wanted to do.

In fact, not only did I use Washi Tape to create my card, but I’ve added strips of Peekaboo Peach & Basic Black Card mixed in.  I used the “Faux Stitching” Technique on it which just happens to be one our techniques for November.  Be sure to go & check out our Technique Page.

I must say one thing – since beginning this idea, I am finding I am actually using my Washi Tape & will be happy that I may not have any left over come the end of the current Catalogue.   Usually I have a heap of it left.

It’s quite a simple & easy card but one with a bit of a WOW!

By clicking on the link above the card, you can download your free tutorial.

Until next time,

Happy Stampin’

Thanks So Much

I was playing around the other day & decided to have a play with Washi Tape & try & use it in an entirely different way.  Mind you, I am still working on that project.

While playing, I had a light bulb moment!  Why not try & use it with the Brick Wall EF?  Out came the “Cherry on Top” Washi Tape (Retired) & off I went playing & cutting.

As I wanted the Washi Tape to be the star, I kept the remainder of the card very clean & simple.  Don’t forget, you could even use scraps of DSP, Ribbon or even Cardstock.  You will also need a little bit of patience, but I think it is worth it in the end.

Washi Wednesday

G’day Stampers,

I didn’t make it last Wednesday, a couple of things happened & it sort of went to the back burner, so today we’re back!

My card today has been created with retired Washi Tape, but you could always replace it with the lovely “Candy Lane” Page 5, “Warmth & Cheer“, Page 13, or the “Presents & Pinecones“, Page 20 of the 2016 Holiday Catalogue.

I created a simple Christmas Card, although it sure didn’t start out that way.  Once I had decided on the Tape, I knew I wanted to keep it simple & let the Tape speak for itself.  Sometimes it is best to keep things simple.

Thank You

Good Morning Stampers,

Today is “Washi Wednesday” which means we have a card using Washi Tape.

Again, it is a very easy card but with a little bit of a WOW.  It is not my idea, as I found one on Pinterest but sort of turned it into my own.  In fact I had picked up the “Pop of Pink” Washi Tape to use, remember seeing the card & went with it.  Thank you so much for your inspiration.

If you don’t have Washi Tape, don’t forget you could try using strips of DSP to create the card.

Thank You

It’s Wednesday today, which means its “Washi Wednesday” where we get to create cards using the lovely Washi Tape.

I did these cards a couple of weeks ago for some Thank You Cards for my customers.  I ended up doing a couple of each which is unusual for me as I don’t often create a number of the same cards, but I love how quick & easy cards are able to be created using Washi Tape.  You don’t have to have a couple of layers like I have, you could easily just create using your Base Card.
