Happy Anniversary

I was asked to create a card for a special 40th Anniversary so the first stamp set that 20170630_125601blog-insidepopped into my mind was the Number of Years including the matching the “Large Number” Framelits along with the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits.  Of course being the 40th I had to use the “Red Glimmer Paper”.

This was perfect timing as I am a member of “Joy of Sets (SU!)” FB Group & they are having their first challenge this month.  The challenge is “RUBY – let’s see red on your cards“.

Being for a very special occasion, I thought a 5” square card would be nice.

I die cut the heart into a piece of Thick Whisper White Card using the Blooming Heart Thinlits & running through the Big Shot.  A piece of the Red Glimmer Paper was then adhered behind the cut out shape.  I also die cut a number of flowers scraps of the Red Glimmer Paper & Thick Whisper White Card for later on.  I wasn’t too sure which ones I was going to use.

The die cut heart was inlaid back into the shape using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen before layering onto the Base Card – Thick Whisper White.

I die cut the “4” & “0” from the Red Glimmer Paper using the Large Number Framelits by running through the Big Shot.  I repeated it twice but using Thick Whisper White Card as I wanted the numbers to pop out a little.  The die cut numbers were layered onto each 20170630_125538blog (2)other before finally adhering to the Card Front.

After settling on the Whisper White die cut flowers, these were adhered to heart with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

I stamped “Happy” onto scrap Whisper White in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, punched it with the Classic Label Punch, cut the left side straight & adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The “th” was stamped onto scrap Whisper White in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, cut back to size & a Banner Shape into the left hand side before being adhered to the top of the “o”.

The Banner image was stamped onto Whisper White Card in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink as was the “Anniversary“, fussy cut & adhered to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To complete the card, Pearls Basic Jewels were applied to the centre of the flowers & randomly scattered around the card front.

For the inside & the envelopes, I used the remainder of the die cut Whisper White flowers along with the Red Glimmer flowers.

I do hope you like my card today, I know the lovely couple who received it did!

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Vicky

Sunshine Wishes

I was very happy to know that although the Bundle will not be available in the new 2017-20170515_093151blog-close-u2018 Annual Catalogue, the “Sunshine Sayings” Stamp Set & coordinating “Sunshine Wishes” Framelits will not be retiring.  I love both these products.

I saw a card created by Andrea Walford using these Framelits on Pinterest & so I set about creating it.  I also found that she has a both a video tutorial & a PDF showing how she created her gorgeous card.  Thank you Andrea for your lovely inspiration.

My background has been created using the Faux Torn Paper Technique which I am more than happy with.

Hope you enjoyed the card today.

Love

I was playing around the other day creating cards for Crafty Creations & come up with my card I’m sharing with you today.  It was originally intended to be a Valentine’s Day, but looking at it, you could use it for any occasion even an Engagement, 0022mblogWedding or Anniversary!

I’ve used a couple of pieces of DSP from the “Have A Cuppa” Pack which is from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue.  I wanted to use it in a different way.

I layered a piece of DSP to a piece of Melon Mambo Card prior to running through the Big Shot with Bold Butterfly Thinlits.  A small border of Melon Mambo is showing all around the DSP.

I cut the word “Love” from the Expressions Thinlit (Retired) in Melon Mambo by running it through the Big Shot.  I placed the Love Thinlit (retired) over the top of the Butterfly Shape & again run it through the Big Shot.  When cutting it, be very careful to keep any small pieces that you may need to place back onto the card.

I then layered a piece of Window Sheet behind the cut out Butterfly & with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen, adhered the Love back into place including any cut pieces of the DSP.  The whole piece was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, layered onto another piece of DSP from the same Pack & layered to the Base Card – Basic Grey.

I cut XOXO from Crushed Curry Card using the Circle Card Thinlits which was adhered to a Heart Shape cut from the same set before adhering to the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I do hope you like my card using Dies & Thinlits a little bit of a different way.

This card could easily be turned into a Shaper Card too.  All you have to do is place Stampin’ Dimensionals around the outline of the Butterfly.

I’ve just realised we’ve done no stamping on our card!

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Thanks

I saw a card on Pinterest some time ago which stuck in my head for some reason.  I’m not sure if it was the colours, the layout or the technique.  So my card today is from that card with my own spin on it.  Thank you so much for your inspiration!

As you have probably gathered I am a big fan of the Decorative Masks.  I love how you many different looks you can achieve using them, the many techniques you can use with them & of course all the backgrounds you are able to create.

My card has actually been created for the challenge over at CYCI where we could pick 3 colours to create our project.  Thank you once again Team for a great challenge.

The colours I used for the challenge – Old Olive & Daffodil Delight InksBasic Black Card with Whisper White as my Neutral.

Just Because

I’ve had another play with the Rose Garden Thinlints Dies the other day & come up with this card which is a little different.  There is just so much you can do with these dies.

For my background, I used the “Happy PatternsDecorative Masks, Whisper White Craft Ink & a Dauber.

My Leaf has been sponged in Pear Pizzazz & Old Olive Inks while the Rose is Melon Mambo & Blushing Bride Inks.  To put them together I used the “Inlaid Die” Technique.

To finish my card, I stamped “Just Because” from “A Dozen Thoughts“, punched one end with the Washi Label Punch & adhered it to the Card Front.

I hope you like my card today.  Sorry there is no actual tutorial as I am running late for a couple of things.  If I get time in the next couple of days, I will post a tutorial for you.

Until then, Happy Stampin’

Technique Class

Our technique last Sunday was all about “Inlaid Dies“.  I love, love, love doing this & thought this card was perfect for this016-xmas---blog technique.

I was so happy when I saw “Wondrous Wreath” had returned in the new Catalogue.  I hadn’t purchased it when it first come out but after seeing so many gorgeous cards created using this set, I knew I just had to get it.

Although, in saying that, I have used it a little different.  Add a little bit of the gorgeous new “Merry Moments DSP” I think we created a lovely Christmas Card.  “Christmas Card” you say, no it isn’t too early & the ladies thought it fantastic that we start our cards so early.  I am going to try & do at least 1 up until November.

This class will be repeated Wednesday, 29 July.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
