Lovely as a Tree

Realising that I no longer have many stamp sets for males, I went straight for my back up set – “Lovely as a Tree“.  It has been sooooooo long since I’ve had a play with this set that I thought it would be Lovely-as-a-Tree---Close-Up great to showcase at our “Cards @ Toogoom” class last Friday week.

As you know this is one of the longest sets available in the Catalogue.

I did start to case the card from the Annual Catalogue, Page 137, but as usual it sort of went off on its own.

The Old Olive has been embossed with the Woodland EF (which you can’t see very clearly but it does make the card) before adding to a piece of Very Vanilla, a piece of Solid Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine wrapped around the top part before being adhered to the Base Card – Chocolate Chip.

Lovely-as-a-Tree---InsideThe image has been stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink & then coloured & blended using the Watercolour Pencils before being die cut & layered onto a scallop circle & adhered to the Card Front.

For the inside I stamped the same image in Chocolate Chip Ink direct onto a piece of Very Vanilla before adhering to the Old Olive Base Card.

255. Brother – Lovely as a Tree

Lovely-as-a-Tree

Happy Birthday

I was asked a couple of weeks ago to create a card for a friend of mine who turned 89, 2 weeks ago.  We all call him “Pop” & my dog Belle, just loves going down to their place for 20170605_095253blog-insidevisits but I really think it is the treats they give her.  I often come home alone as Belle is happy sitting on the mat at their feet & in the company of their little dog, Friday.

I did case this card off Pinterest that I had seen a little time ago & loved the simple easy design of the card.  Thank you so much for your inspiration.  It suits Pop as he is always out in the garden or shed playing & building stuff, with Belle always at his heels.

I stamped the images onto a piece of scrap Whisper White Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink & die cut them using the matching “Build It” Framelits by running through the Big Shot.

The background from the stamp Set “Awesomely Artistic” was stamped direct onto a piece of Whisper White Card in Marina Mist Ink while the small accessories were all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.  The card was then layered onto a piece of Marina Mist & then to the Base Card – Night of Navy.

The tools were coloured & blended with Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Smokey Slate & Basic Grey Inks using a Blender Pen before being adhered the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

For my card I decided to use the “Nailed It” Bundle from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue & which is retiring at the end of May.

I layered a piece of the “Urban Underground” DSP to a piece of Very Vanilla CS before20170409_091213_resizedblog layering onto the Base Card – Crushed Curry.

I used the “Nailed It” Bundle to create my tools.  Firstly I stamped 3 of the Tools from the “Nailed It” Stamp Set onto scraps of Very Vanilla CS in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, coloured small areas with the Basic Grey Watercolour Pencil & blended a little with a Blender Pen before cutting with the matching “Build It” Framelits by running through the Big Shot.  I added the cute little “smiley face” to the hammer.

I cut a piece of Very Vanilla CS with the large circle from the “Stitched Shapes” Framelits by running through the Big Shot, randomly stamped the circle with the Nails & Screw Image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink before adhering to the Card Front with Stampin’ 20170409_091158_resizedblog (2)Dimensionals.

To highlight the handles a little I added a little Basic Black CS by cutting just the handles using the “Build It” Framelits & adhering to the shapes which were then arranged over the stitched circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Happy Birthday” is from the “Sunshine Sayings” Stamp Set & has been stamped onto a scrap of Very Vanilla CS in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, punched with the “Classic Label” Punch & adhered to the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope you like my card today.

FMS 279

I created a card a couple of days ago for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches & nearly 20170316_094946_resizedblogforgot to post.  So today, I am sharing with you that card.

It has actually been sent off in the post which is probably one of the reasons why I am so late in sharing & only just scrapping in for the challenge.

I decided that I wanted to play with the “High Tide” Stamp Set from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue so teamed it up with the colours of Dapper Denim & Real Red.

Thank you team for another great challenge.  It is a great way to kick start your inspiration.

Happy Birthday

I found a card on Pinterest by the very talented Kelly Kent a little while ago & loved the simple layout of her card.  Thank you so much for your inspiration Kelly.

I love the “High Tide” Stamp Set, Page 25 of the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.  I have added my own bits & pieces to the card but the layout is still the same.  I used the “By the Shore” DSP on my card, along with Very Vanilla, Dapper Denim & Calypso Coral CS.

Happy Birthday – FMS 276

It is not often that I post on a Saturday as I usually have the day off from crafting but I’ve20170225_073820_resizedblog issued a challenge over on our FB Page that this weekend, we had to find a challenge, create a project & post it somewhere including our Page.

I’ve had my head going around the past couple of days thinking of a way to create a card using the challenge over at FMS.  Once I sort of set my mind to what I wanted to do, I was surprised at how easy my card came together.   As I hadn’t created a male card in some time, I also challenged myself to creating one for the males & think I have succeeded.  Although I will admit that I wanted to emboss the background but completely forgot about that part until after I put it together.  Oh, well!

Thank you once again to the team over at FMS for a great challenge – loved the layout!
