Congratulations

G’day Stampers,

Thank you once again for being so supportive with my creations.  It is always a delight to receive an email saying how much you enjoy my cards & tutorials.  Thank you again!

I created today’s card a couple of weeks ago & didn’t realise it hadn’t been posted.142315S

I’ve used the lovely new “Best Birds Bundle” for my card, along with Markers which don’t get used as much as I would like. This set includes the gorgeous Stamp Set along with the “Birds & Blooms” Dies.

Congrats

My card today is one I saw on Pinterest a couple of weeks ago & thought I would give it ago 4 May - TTusing all Stampin’ Up! products.  Thank you Julie for your inspiration.  I love the final result although it is very bright & way out of my comfort zone, but hey that is the great thing about creating & trying new things.

I’ve used Timeless Texture from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue which is due to retire at the end of the month so be quick to get in while you can.  The greeting/sentiment is from Perfect Pairings which was part of SAB 2016 where you could earn it for FREE.

Don’t forget, Sponging & Heat Embossing are our Technique Treats this month, so if you would like to learn how to do these techniques, then pop on over to the Techniques Treats Page to purchase them.  Even if you know how to do the techniques why not refresh your memory.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Congratulations

I’ve been playing with the Decorative Masks of late & loving the different looks I can achieve with these.  I have also been creating classes using 004wma-blogthem for Crafty Creations Classes – my volunteer classes.

For my card today, I saw something similar on Pinterest sometime ago & filed it in the back of my mind to have a play over the Christmas Break.  Looking at the original, my doesn’t look much like it but that is a good thing.

I’ve used the gorgeous “Birthday Blooms” from the current 2016 Occasions Catalogue & team it up with the greeting from “Sky is the Limit” which is from 2016 SAB.

I used one of the Decorative Masks from the “Happy Patterns” as I sort of wanted to create a wall which the Rose could sit on.  Not sure if I pulled it off, but I’m happy with the result.

My Pearls have been coloured with a Pink & Yellow Permanent Marker.  The colours are so close to Melon Mambo & Daffodil Delight that I couldn’t have planned it better if I tried.

I finished my Rose off by adding “Wink of Stella – Clear” to the flower.  I did try to get a good photo of all the lovely shinny bits, but unfortunately no luck.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Petal Parade

Our card last Friday at Crafty Creations was using a past SAB Stamp Set – Petal Parade.003in-blog

I decided to try something a little different & combine it with the Emboss Resist Technique.  The ladies loved it & everyone’s turned out a little different.

For my colours I used – Pink Pirouette, Pool Party & Sahara Sand

008-craftyThis is a picture of the ladies cards.  As you can see they are all different.  A couple of the ladies even added highlighted areas to their images with Markers.

If you click on the link below, you will be able to download a tutorial to create your own card.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Emboss Resist…

… meets “Petal Parade!

Our card at Crafty Creations this arvo was using the great little Technique – Emboss Resist.  It doesn’t matter what stamp set, 003in-blogcolours or layout you use when doing this technique, the end result never ceases to amaze me.

With a little bit of Stamping,Heat Embossing & Sponging, you can create a lovely card!

Once we created our layout, we then randomly cut it into 3 pieces.  TO finish it off, we added a small greeting & popped it up onto the Card Front.

I tend to keep my cards fairly simple & plain when doing techniques as I like that to be the focus of the card.

The stamp set is one from SAB 2014, but may be substituted for any solid stamp.

For the New Mr & Mrs……

I seem to be in a bit of  “Blue” ood of late, as today’s card is yet another blue one.

I like to create cards for the Bride & Groom whose stationery I create for their Receptions.  Along with a copy of all the stationery for themselves to keep for their memnto or album, I include a  simple “Congratultions” card usually with the colours of their wedding.  I think this is a lovely touch to finish off the job as well as something that they usually don’t expect!

The card today is one such card.  The colours for their reception was “blues”.

The idea for my card was one I cased from Pinterest.  It is quiet a simple easy card, but one with a bit of a “WOW”.  Unfortunately, I am unable to give credit to the talented person who created the card as there was no name, but Thank You so much for your inspiration.

Congratulations…..

… on finding each other.

This is the lovely sentiment from Stampin’ Up!’s “A Word for you“.  It is also the sentiment I stamped onto this great little card.

Today’s share is the card we created in Crafty’s Creations Class this arvo.  Of course, everyone’s was very different, but that the great thing about all having the same kit & each creating their card by adding their personal touch.

I would never usually combine Basic Black & Regal Rose together but I wanted a bit of a dramatic effect & think it has worked.  Of course, the strip of Pearls along the top & the touch of Certainly Celery adds dimenion & colour to the card.

SC 022/12…

My brother’s brithday card has turned into a female card!!!!!  When selecting my stamps, I accidently picked the stamp set on my desk.  This will teach me to put my stuff away after I finish using them…..  Ummmm back to the drawing board for him.

The card is for the current challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations, so why not hop over & see what Kris & Gwen have created using the current sketch & Theme “Celebrations“.  Yep, this is really easy – all sorts of celebrations pop into my head, including weddings, birthdays, engagements, christenings, the list goes on.  We would love for you to join us this year…..

Now only did I select the wrong stamp set, but after completing my card, I discovered I had done it upside down & back to front…..  Yep, always check the direction of your card PRIOR to adhering your layers….  Anyhow, not to be beaten, I cut the Very Vanilla Cardstock around the edge so that only Riding Hood Red was showing & created another base!!!!!!

As for the colours, you ask……  I grabbed my trusty Colour Coach for this sketch, starting with what  was Riding Hood Red & the combinations for that.  I have just finished creating the card & looked at the Colour Coach again, only to discover I had been going by Riding Hood Red AND Cherry Cobbler…..

You know the olnly saying – “things come in 3’s“…………

Measurements –
Base Card – Very Vanilla Cardstock – 11 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 30cm x 10.5cm – Scored in the middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Riding Hood Red Cardstock – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Soft Suede Cardstock – 5 3/8″ x 3 3/4″ or 13.5cm x 9.5cm

The Riding Hood Red Cardstock was adhered to the Base Card – Very Vanilla using Snail Adhesive.

Inside & Envelope…

I run the piece of Soft Suede Cardstock through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots.  I cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock about 5 3/8″ long x 3/8″ wide, adhered it to the top of the embossed piece & adhered the piece of Riding Hood Red Ribbon along the middle, tucking ends under prior to adhering to the Base Card.

For my Ribbon, I dyed a piece of Whisper White Grosgrain using Riding Hood Red Ink & Sponge.  This was set aside to dry prior to adhering to the thing piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock.

For the larger circle, I run the Circles #2 Die through the Bigshot & again using the Embossing Folder – Square Lattice.  This was adhered to the card with Multipurpose Glue.

I cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock from the Circles #2 Die, stamped one image in Soft Sude Ink, one in Early Expresso Ink, while the last in Basic Gray, which was stamped off prior to stamping onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock.  This is where I couldn’t understand why I was using Basic Gray all of a sudden.  Answer – I was on the colour selection of Cherry Cobbler!!!!

I stamped an extra image onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Riding Hood Red & Early Expresso SU MarkerDazzling Diamonds was applied to the centre with 2-Way Glue prior to adhering over top of one of the images with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The whole piece was adhered to the embossed circle with Multipurpose Glue.

My sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock with Riding Hood Red & punched using the Modern Label Punch.  Don’t you love it when all the stamps match the punches????

Now for a card full of errors & mistakes, I think it come up ok!!!!  Miracles do happen!!!!
