Today I am showing you a card we created in our “Cards @ Toogoom” class a couple of weeks ago. I am a little behind in posting our creations, but I am slowing getting there.
I wanted to create a Birthday Card which could be used for either a boy or girl & so went with the “Balloon Celebration” Stamp Set. It has a matching Balloon Boutique Punch which makes life so much easier. I also used the “Cherry on Top” DSP Stack (retired) along with a couple of 2015-2017 In-Colours which have since retired – Watermelon Wonder & Tip Top Taupe.
Because the front was so easy, I wanted to showcase that you could also do the inside a little different & it would be something the receiver would not be expecting when opening the card. It is not what I had planned but after seeing this card on Pinterest, I decided to go for it. Meg called it a “Snowcone Pop-Up Card”. Thank you so much for your photo instructions.
I’m quite happy with how the card turned out considering I wasn’t sure where I was going with it. You could easily change the colours, DSP & Ribbon to current products & have yourself a completely different looking card.
If you click on the link above the photo, you will be able to download the instructions to create your own card. They include all the supplies & measurement (metric & imperial).
Today’s card is one we are creating in our “Cards @ Toogoom” class this morning. I hope the ladies like it!
I started by caseing the card from the 2017 SAB Catalogue but it sort of went off on its own. I then found a card on Pinterest that I loved so I ended finishing my card by caseing it. Thank you so much for your inspiration.
I’m loving my Blender Pen at the moment as the new smooth & improved Watercolour Pencils make it so very easy to use. I also want the class to play with them as they are very interested in different techniques, so look out class, we will be doing lots of lovely techniques in our future classes.
Don’t forget that we only have 7 days until SAB ends for another year. Grab your Free items when you spend $AUD90.00. You can place your order by shopping Online or contacting me. SU! have been very generous once again & added 8 new items to the list for the last 2 weeks.

I’m sharing a card Naomi & I created on Wednesday when we had a bit of a play arvo.
I love all the white on the card but at the same time adding bits of colour by using DSP, Candy Dots & Ink. I wanted to showcase another way of using up your bits of DSP you have hanging around your craft room or even pieces you haven’t cut into as yet. It is also to remind you that we have our Pretty Pattern PapersTutorial available for sale.
I’m not really a brights person, but am very happy with the way this card turned out! Don’t you love it when an idea works? I would love to know what you think.
Don’t forget this DSP is on the Retirement Listalong with the Candy Dots, so now is the time to grab them before they are gone forever.
Don’t forget, by clicking on the link above the photo, you can download the tutorial to create your own card.
I haven’t been posting much of late so I thought I would share a card we created 2 weeks ago in my volunteer class.
As it was the school holidays, I thought it would be a good idea for the kids who come along to the class to create a card with a fun dress. I also get to use some of my retired stuff!
I’ve seen these skirts around on the net for some time but never managed to play, so I sat myself down, “drafted” a skirt that we could cut out from DSP. Mind you the DSP is one from years ago, but still had a little bit of it sitting in my retired stuff. It reminds me of Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman”.
We also used the “Dress Up” Framelits (retired) where we used the top part of the dress to create a little jacket from Very Vanilla Card. To finish it off, we added a little role of Pearls around the neck & to the centre of the small flower.
The greeting is from the retired Hostess Set “Express Yourself“.
